What You'll Do:
  The Ohio Department of Health’s Office of Informatics, Data, Epidemiology and Analytics is hiring a Data Analytics Specialist to extract, analyze, reconcile, & integrate data from multiple sources & systems (e.g.,InnovateOhio Platform (IOP), DataOhio Portal (DOP), external data sources) in order to ensure validity, completeness, & utility. This position will support the agency by providing insight recommendations, and actionable solutions that support the agency’s goals and objectives. Additional duties include:
 
  Querying data from relational databases and using various data and analytics tools (e.g., HUE, Tableau, Alteryx, R, Python, SAS) to clean, curate, transform, aggregate, and analyze data
  Utilizes analytics techniques (e.g., regression, correlation, cluster analysis, classification, data mining, machine learning, data visualization) to discover, confirm, & document associations, develop predictive models, and automate repetitive tasks; applies statistical analysis & visualization techniques to identify data trends & relationships
  Presents findings to agency leadership
  Operationalizes analytics processes: establishes measurement & reporting of performance metrics; identifies & documents best practices; trains peers & business staff in use of analytics tools & techniques; remains current with relevant innovations & industry direction

  Minimum Qualifications
 
 
 
  Possession of a bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience analyzing data and investigating criminal activity. Substitution(s): A master's degree in criminology, law enforcement, or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
 
   Some positions may require State of Ohio or federal clearances, certification, or licensure related to the specialization of the program or assignment.

Job Description Summary:
This position supports the System-wide Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI), chart corrections, duplicate merges, overlays, and other Data Integrity Analyst functions for all OhioHealth entities on Epic (Care Connect). In addition, this position may support all EMPI functions related to Community Connect entities. These tasks require effective critical thinking skills to analyze regulatory requirements, state, and federal laws, including Joint Commission, the 21st Century Cures Act and HIPAA. The Data Integrity Analyst must apply this knowledge when evaluating and working multiple in baskets and interface error queues requiring deductive reasoning for the purpose of ensuring accurate documentation in the patient’s EHR. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 
 The position also requires working independently with little to no supervision. Data abstraction and computer skills are essential to this role along with excellent customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail are necessary to perform this role successfully. This associate must also be able to perform other duties as assigned by the HIM Directors, HIM Operations Manager or Supervisor.
